Frequently Asked Questions
Cutout Designer uses a proportional 5% bleed, so a 1.5 inch cutout gets approximately 0.075 inches of bleed on each side. The total cut size comes out to about 1.65 inches. Our tool calculates this automatically and shows you the bleed zone in real time as you position your image.
On a standard 8.5 x 11 inch letter page, you can fit approximately 16 cutouts. On tabloid paper (11 x 17), you can fit around 35. Cutout Designer calculates the exact count based on your spacing and handles the layout automatically.
The 1.5 inch cutout is noticeably smaller than the standard 2.25 inch. It works best for simpler designs, logos, and situations where you want a more subtle look. If you need more room for text or detailed artwork, the 2.25 inch is the better choice. Both are popular, and Cutout Designer supports both.
